Hey, even though it’s been said many others many times before, I think it still needs to be put out there.
If you’re reblogging an artist’s drawing, please don’t remove their description.
I understand sometimes they might seem trite and inconsequential (and in my case they usually are), but it’s kind of a bummer to put work into something and have someone basically silence you by deleting your comment. This isn’t the first time it’s happened to me, one instance of which was /really/ upsetting because the comment was meant to express gratitude for someone’s help, and it probably won’t be the last. And I can deal with it when it happens, though I’d feel much better if it didn’t happen at all. c:
I make it a point to check and see if the artwork still has its artist comment before I reblobble it. If someone’s erased it and I didn’t catch it before, then I delete what I originally reblogged, find the source, and reblog it from them instead. I don’t care if it was two sentences or ‘blah’ — erasing someone’s commentary on their art because you didn’t think it was necessary/you didn’t like a character that was mentioned in it or some other trite excuse makes you seem rude and inconsiderate.
